Hey everyone,
In case those of you outside have missed it, check
out the results of the Great Millennium Dome Auction:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/Archive/Article/0,4273,4143533,00.html
In this case, the centerpiece is a 6-plus-foot model hamster,
with a wedge of cheese. (Do hamsters eat cheese? Hm.)
Unfortunately I was unable to find any photos of the happy
couple (Man and Monster-Mouse) but perhaps I can scan one
in one of these days. The pictures add a great deal to
the surreal nature of the thing.
As the Evening Standard put it: 'The largest car boot
sale in history.' Yes, Virginia, there *are* people who
want to spend £3000 for a large triangular rodent.
On the positive side, a model of a pubic louse got £100.
It's nice to see people taking an interest in science.
best
Lindsay
ObMeat: "Why are they called 'hamsters?' They taste more
like chicken...chickensters?"
