Wow, thanks for passing moral judgement on my level of compassion based on my
desire for fiscal responsibility. Aside from the fact that I could ask what
qualifies you as one to set the level of acceptable compassion for human life
(assuming you could accurately determine another person's level, which I
assert you cannot from this discussion), I guess it's a good thing I don't
need you to think I'm a good person to know I am.

Thanks again. I guess on the one hand you're interested in proclaiming how
kind and caring people who want to spend money that isn't theirs (and maybe
doesn't exist) on your cause of the week, while at the same time taking
potshots at someone who disagrees with you.

I didn't say anything like that. What I said could be read to (rightly) state
that any government money spent on anything COMES FROM taxes, but not
(necessarily) that spending it on any one thing will increase taxes, although
history tends to agree that as spending goes up taxes go up, or is it the
other way around?

That's ok - you're entitled to your opinion and your priorities. Difference
between us seems to be I don't pass judgement on you for yours, while you seem
to feel compelled to label me heartless and lacking in compassion for mine.

Yes and yes, although thanks for trying to slip the race card in. I'm a
citizen of the United States of America. I've served my country in the
military and I support it now by paying my taxes. Discounting the various
places where it might be in our best economic interests to help out other
countries I am 100% for allowing other people in other countries to receive
their services from their governments.
We're not their policemen and we're not their daddies.

Good for you.

Life's pretty comfortable here.
