Personally, I think that anyone who would respond to
such an
email as it was would be taking a big chance.

A chance of what?
I get tons of spam as is, even though I'm not active in ebay (being registered
to hotmail makes it bad enough.). Why would the person sending this (say it is
a spam) go out of her way to put "the sunshine house" in the subject line?
Obviously, she knew something about lego. In fact, the email I got seemed to
be a reply to my post in .scala about the sunshine house, 'cause the mail
said: "Wow, what a deal! What is LS@H and how do you order from it?"
So I don't see your reasoning. What chance was I taking?

If you respond to spam you have just given the spammer your email addy which he
now knows is active and will then sell it to whomever he chooses.  To suddenly
find porn in your mailbox is not an event I wish to experience.  And once your
addy is on a list out there in cyberspace, you may as well get a new one because
you are up the proverbial spam creek.

I assumed that she was talking about the deal I had posted about, and replied.
I must agree that I'm not a fan of hurried, unsigned letters, but just because
a person was in a hurry or was too lazy to write a formal letter, doesn't mean
he/she were trying to spam you.

You don't understand.  I will forgive any kind of email that is hurried, whatever
(even all lower case letters....well *except* that;) as long as I know who the
sender is.  I'm not saying that I thought she was trying to spam me, I'm saying
that I didn't recognize her letter as a personal letter but as spam *because* of
her writing (or lack thereof) skills.  Like I said before, I would have been
happy to help her out if I had realized it was a legitimate request for help,
which I didn't.

Just 2 cents...
