Not really. I hope most of us don't have a problem with someone telling us
they think our ideas and arguments are hogwash from time to time. I sometimes
like to throw out a radical opinion just to see what folks think, and get a
better understanding of the situation. I'll try one now-
"Everyone should own guns, lots of them, and carry them everywhere, even to
school. We'd all be so much more polite that way."
I think that it's going overboard to say things about people, and not their
arguments- "That is a dumb argument" is ok, but "You sir, are dumb" is not.
