It is a pity that many of those lauding him now did not listen to him more in the build-up to the war in Iraq. Unlike them, he viewed all human life equally.

Me, I am filled with a mixture of sadness and relief. Sadness for all the obvious reasons, but relief that he is no longer suffering, and also, frankly, relief that maybe there might be some changes coming. Probably not, since all but 3 cardinals were elevated during his term, but one can hope.
