Sure it is. And so is bastard and moron - but these terms have been
deemed offensive, and so using them, even if accurate to do so, is considered
offensive and rude.
I should also point that sodomite is not actually accurate, because it
describes only one particular action, which may or may not have anything to
do with homosexuality. Sodomite is about a certain type of sex,
Homosexual is about what sort of person you *love* in relation to you.
Homosexual only refers to the love/attraction felt, and not the actions you
take to express those feelings.

You neglected to show the context in which I used that word in
the first place, which was to show that by the term sodomite one would
know both sexual orientation and also know what kinds of sex acts one
might expect would occur. It has nothing to do with imagination. Here is
the two paragraphs that show the context:
|
Context is irrelevant. If I (being a white, middle class male) used the
n-word for whatever reason, whatever context, whatever purpose - if I merely
used the word, it is offensive and I should refrain from doing so.
Sodomite has a similiar power - and again, despite accuracy or any other
quality of the word: a piece of advice - avoid using it. And never use it
directed against someone personally.

There is a technically accurate term for describing a male heterosexual who has
kids--a term that isnt used in polite company (though appears in many rap
songs and movies that love to use profanity...)--I dont think Lee would like
people calling him that...
And, as far as Im concerned, heterosexual or a homosexual does not imply the
range of sex acts that can take place--its just a description of who youre
attracted to--when I was a teenager, I knew I was a heterosexual because I was
attracted to women, and no coupling took place thru my those years. But
thats just me.
Lenny stated things perfectly.
