Plus, you've got that goofy metric system to worry about.
I don't doubt your tale at all, though it reminds me of other people I've known
who've made claims of ambidexterity: Usually it amounts to "I write with my
right hand, and I can use a hammer or a fork with my left hand, so I'm
ambidextrous." Okay then.
Come to think of it, I've come across lots of people who claim all kinds of
mental quirks that are hard to verify or disprove "I have dyslexia/I have ADHD/I
have Asberger's etc. etc. etc." The habit seems to serve a desire to be
perceived as having "overcome" something, or to preserve a justification for
failing to achieve some desired but unattained goal. That's not to say that
these conditions are themselves fictitious, but I've met a statistically
improbable number of self-diagnosed sufferers.
End of digression, maybe.
Half a lifetime ago I worked at a Burger King, wherein the "fry scooper" had
only one handle, and it was on the right. I jokingly claimed that this was
discrimination against lefties, and I was assured that "no it isn't, because
there are more righties than lefties." Oh.
Dave!
(left handed, if you're wondering)

| (...) <snipp> (...) Does writing with your left hand make you left handed, or, as in my case, since I'm basically right-handed predominant except for writing (and who writes anymore, anyway) would I be considered right-handed? Dave K (20 years ago, 20-Sep-04, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Being fully ambidextrous should require being able to do everything with either hand at will, and being partially ambidextrous should (...) (20 years ago, 20-Sep-04, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
