I think Anthony has hit the nail on the head here. If you open the gate to
create a group whose primary focus is not Lego but homosexuality and therefore
off-topic, you will have to allow off-topic groups for ALL different sorts of
things (religious, ethnic, racial, sports, political). There will be no
argument to say "No" to these groups because they are no different from the .gay
group - to approve one and ban another is grossly hypocritical and plain unfair.
Let the balkanization begin. I look forward to the creation of a couple of
groups Anthony has mentioned above. (Actually it's tongue-in-cheek, I don't
have any desire to see ANY of these off-topic groups existing.)
