Since US citizens are apparently entitled to have their personal views
established as national policy, here are a few changes I'm going to demand:
Essays on "How I Spent My Summer Vacation" must be outlawed
Teachers are forbidden to ask "How are you today, class?"
The color green must not be worn on Thursdays, but if it is worn,
no comment may be made about it
Classroom attendance must be recorded secretly so that no
conclusions can be drawn about a student's presence or absence
Classroom discussions of literature must exclude any comments
about personal opinion or aesthetic preference
Any child undertaking the taunting of another will summarily be
called before the Supreme Court to defend his taunting
No math problems or verb conjugations may be performed on
chalkboards or in view of the class-at-large, so that
incorrect answers do not subject students to taunting
Answers may not be called out in the classroom, so that
embarrassment does not result from incorrect answers
Desks must be concealed so that works-in-progress cannot be viewed,
which might result in unfair preconceptions about work quality
No one may look at anyone else, so that conclusions cannot be drawn
about stylistic tastes, economic standing, or gender
Children's names must not be revealed, so that names can not be
used for purposes of harassment
With these few and reasonable steps I hope to make my children and yours
better able to handle criticism and ready to interact with the world. If
you agree, contact your representative and demand that your views be enacted
today.
Dave!
