I came across this post AFTER my reply to the previous chewing-out from James:

Forget about it, dude. I realize I make bitter statements that reflect my
personal dissatisfaction with our government's foreign policy, and I have my
reasons. I think wars throughout history would be different if the jerks who
started them went to the front line and had to carry a spear, sword, or gun
and put their life on the line. For the record, I don't knock all Americans,
just those who deserve it--those who ARE greedy, who DO act cowardly and DO
contribute to suffering around the world. I don't want to be associated with
those kind of Americans and I'm sure the majority of Afghans, or whomever,
don't want to be associated with their bad apples. Hope that clears up any
reservations you may have had about my integrity.
Dan
