They were not driven out. Who told you that? Where did you get that idea?
You can't just "expell" millions of people... They were given a choice:
exile, conversion, or death. Mostly, they have chosen the second. Thank god
they did so, or else we wouldn't have had the Age of Discoveries - the
caravel was an Arab invention, as the lateen sail (see the "dhows").
And I am not sorry, I am just saying that history is far more complex than
what is commonly thought (and taught). They were not "bad guys", just
another culture.
