$149.99 is the price for the new Ultimate Collector Series X-Wing set and is a
bit expensive for a set that only has standard Lego elements in it (no bricks

If it is that high then there have to be a LOT of pieces, maybe 1,800+?  It
seems like it since the 5571 giant truck from 1996 was retailing for $139 and
has 1743 pieces.  The inflation over the 5 years would be about right going up
$10.  Also, the 6 big tires on the 5571 might have bumped up the price of the
set and there are no tires in the X-wing so that means there might be even
more pieces, maybe 2000+ in the X-wing.  This might be the biggest set ever
released!

Someone on RTL posted that the UCS sets are in the S@H computer system. They
have the prices but not the piece counts. The TIE Intercepter is $99.99. I was
thinking that the X-Wing piece count would be comparable to the 5571 or larger.
Hopefully the 2000 piece barrier will be broken this year, which is fitting.

(...) There was a post on RTL that sais that someone called s@h 3rd jan and got prices of $109 for the tie, with a piece count of 703 and $159 for the x-wing with a 1304 piece count. -- Jonathan Wilson wilsonj@xoommail.com (URL) (25 years ago, 7-Feb-00, to lugnet.modelteam, lugnet.starwars)
