WINTER HAVEN - Until now, if you wanted to do some shopping at LEGOLAND Florida
you had to pay for park admission.
No longer. LEGOLAND has unveiled a shopping pass that yields free admission
for guests who wish to browse for clothing, school supplies and LEGO-themed
merchandise at one of several retail stores in the park.
Shoppers are required to buy a single-day park pass at the front gate but are
reimbursed when they check out at the ticket window. The $12 parking fee also
will be reimbursed with a park purchase of $20 or more.
The pass gives shoppers access to the park for one hour. The shops closest to
the front gate include The Big Shop, one of the worlds largest LEGO stores, the
LEGO Studio Store, which sells licensed Harry Potter, SpongeBob and Star Wars
products, and the Minifigure Market.
Along with LEGO toys and kits, shops in the park sell backpacks, lunch boxes,
T-shirts, hats, thermoses and other school supplies.
The pass is in effect now, and no end date has been set for the promotion, a
LEGOLAND Florida spokeswoman said.
LEGOLAND Florida is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Sept. 2.
Regular one-day admission to LEGOLAND Florida is $75 plus tax for adults and $65
plus tax for children and seniors, though several discounts are now available,
including a markdown of $7 for adults and $5 for children and seniors on online
purchases.
