LEGO® Recalling 358,000 toy trucks

Sept. 20, 2006

ENFIELD, CT, United States (UPI) -- LEGO Systems Inc., of Enfield, Conn., said Wednesday it is recalling about 358,000 toy trucks.

The plastic wheels on the LEGO EXPLORE Super Truck set #3509 can detach, exposing a metal axle, the company said in a statement. This poses a puncture hazard to young children.

LEGO Systems has received 10 reports of a wheel detaching. Two children received serious puncture injuries resulting from the exposed metal axle once the wheel detached. Another child fell when the wheel came off of the toy truck.

Consumers should stop using the recalled toy trucks immediately and contact LEGO Systems at 800-718-1858 for information on receiving a refund.
