Why spoil the concept with stuff that everyone has tons of???? Pick a brick should be for the odd colors, sizes and "unusual" elements - NOT standard color bricks and plates. I mean how often can the inventory turn over on 2x2 blue bricks? But then that may result from the following.....
Well for one thing, I don't think the concept of PaB is specifically meant to
cater to the unusual parts needs of AFOLs. Not everyone has tons and tons of
common plates and bricks - and these are the core elements for children to play
and create with. What fun is it to fill a cup with a bunch of unusual elements &
colors that children can't easily build something with?
When I was a PaB in Orlando, kids and their parents were going nuts filling
their cups with common parts/colors that I wouldn't even look at twice. But I'll
admit I almost got caught up in the hysteria of PaB too - I neary trampled some
of those little rugrats that were getting under foot as I filled my cups! :)
I also wish that the PaB selection was larger, but I was relatively satisfied to
find some of the basic elements in rare colors. It was a fun experience overall.
