I was in Orlando for a meeting today so of course I had to swing by the
Orlando LIC before I headed back to the airport. I bought the last of the
red 1x12 Technic beams which was about half a cup full. They also had 1x6
green Technic beams but no 1x12 greens (which are the ones I really wanted).
They also had white picket fences and black lattice fences.
A couple of things I heard or saw while loading my pick-a-brick cup.
The good ...
A young girl, probably 7 or 8, who was really excited about all the unusal
colors. She filled her cup with dark pink, light yellow, some lime green
and a bunch of flowers. She was truly excited about the "neat colors".
The bad ...
Lots of wheels but no axel bricks. I over heard no less than four families
express their frustration at not being able to buy enough parts to make a
simple vehicle. I think there were four different types of wheels but not
one axel brick to be found. Three of the four people ended up emptying out
their cup when they realized they wouldn't be able to build a car and didn't
buy anything. I was probably only there for 10 minutes too. LEGO ought to
consider removing the wheels from the selction if axels aren't available.
What happened to the GFLTC display? I looked for it but didn't see it.
