The K-Marts closing in North Carolina (USA) have two weeks to go, and have
advanced their discount to 50% off the lowest marked price. I found out
today that the actual purchase price is sometimes much less. At the K-Mart
on Avondale Road in Durham, I bought a soccer bus marked $21.99 for $2.50,
and a Studio Camera man marked $1.50 for $0.09.
Some sets are still no bargain. For instance the Life on Mars Excavation
Searcher set (7316) is marked $52.62 or something like that, so it is
cheaper to buy the same set down the street at the TRU for 50% off the MSRP,
or $24.99. (TRU also had some various soccer sets for 33% off or so.)
My K-Mart was a predictable mess, so I spent most of the time roaming the
aisles hunting (and finding) LEGO in odd places.
Happy Hunting!
Cary
