Re: 6 new bulk packs at S@H

(...) Changing back would mean that LEGO management would have to admit the decision was wrong in the first place. This won't happen unless sales drop off badly. This won't happen because most LEGO is bought for kids and it's not likely that this (...) (21 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: 6 new bulk packs at S@H

(...) You seem to forget that Coke had real competition (Pepsi). If it weren't for lots of pissed-off people abandoning the Coke brand, Coke could have gotten away with the switch. The fact is that a viable alternative did exist, and former "loyal" (...) (21 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: 6 new bulk packs at S@H

(...) <snip> Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I can step in here if necessary, but I seem to recall that changing Coke made consumers realize how much they treasured it. After introducing Classic Coke, I think they more than made up for the (...) (21 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: 6 new bulk packs at S@H

(...) Unfortunately, LEGO doesn't have decent competition. We all know how terrible "LEGO Compatable" blocks really are. If they had real competition (like Coke had when they came out with New Coke), customers really could vote with their wallet by (...)   Re: 6 new bulk packs at S@H

(...) Some people compare the new color/old color issue with the New Coke/Old (Classic) Coke issue. We all know how that turned out. When people found out Coke was being replaced with New Coke, they bought all of the Old Coke they could. Some people (...) (21 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: How have the new colors affected your recent buying decisions?

I'm not buying any saets with the new colors in them. Call me whatever you want (some have taken the liberty to insult me because I won't accept the change without protesting as hard as I can), I'm not going to encourage a company that changes the (...)   Re: ON E-BAY! 765 WHEELS, AXLES & MORE PARTS - ONLY $16.00

(...) It's probably worth pointing out that this lot is an auction, and as an auction, absent any special reason for mentioning it elsewhere, it probably belongs in maret.auction, not in market.shopping. That's true even if you yourself didn't list (...) (21 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: 6 new bulk packs at S@H

While new assortment bags are (as you say) no solution to the Color Change, they are still great sets by themselves, and hats off for the speed to implement these new sets. I'm impressed to see that TLG can actually rush things into production if (...) (21 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.market.shopping, FTX)

Re: The breadcrumbs from the masters table

(...) OK, but it's not as if we had 38% sales tax here... Besides, they are made in Europe and shipped to the US, so this factor has not been taken into account yet. Yours, Christian (21 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: The breadcrumbs from the masters table

(...) Are taxes included in the Euro price? They're not in the US one. (21 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.market.shopping)
