I bet it has to do with the number of doors and windows packed in each set. 3734 has 5 left doors and 5 right doors. This is enough doors for 2 Metroliner style cars. I do most all of my shopping through the shops at BrickLink. 99.9% of the shops there have flawless service, just look at their feedback before ordering.
