I just wanted to warn people about my slightly unpleasant experience ordering
from ToyTime.com . Some of you have probably heard about their
buy-one-get-one-free offer going on now, and I decided to take advantage of it
to order a couple sets. Well, when the box arrived I thought they must have
got my order wrong because there was no way the boxes could fit into the
undersized shipping box.
Well, I was wrong. There is a way. They took the two LEGO boxes and
*SMASHED* them down so they would fit into the shipping box! I couldn't
believe it! I was tempted to return them, but since these are for me and not
gifts, I decided it wasn't worth the bother. I called their 800 line to
complain, and the guy was apologetic, but he couldn't say anything more than
"Sorry, we'll try to do better next time."
So bottom line is, if you are worried about the condition of the boxes, for
example for gifts, you should be careful about ordering from ToyTime.
[BTW, before anyone freaks out and thinks I keep my LEGO sets mint in their
unopened boxes, I don't. I do like to keep at least one nice copy of each box
after opening, though, for the pictures.]
