I have had pretty good luck soaking stinky parts in a mixture of water and
Pine-Sol. I have been mixing it in roughly a 10:1 (water to Pine-Sol) ratio
and letting it soak for an hour or two followed by air drying. I stir the
bucket of parts periodically as well. The only ramifications I have seen is
some fading on a yellow technic 2x2 wheel on a batch that I let soak too
long in too strong of a solution. It is pretty amazing (and gross) how
dirty the cleaning solution ends up. YMMV.
