The pieces you are looking for are called Technic half-beams. Just calling
them half-beams is good enough description for most people. They are called
half beams because they are only half as thick as regular bricks and beams.
Another useful purpose for these pieces are as gender-changers for your bricks
and plates. You can turn an upright group of pieces upside down after
connecting with one of these pieces.
As for getting more of them, I might be able to help. The sets that contained
these pieces in this color are still available in my area, though the price is
still pretty much full price. Yes, those Technic CyberPuke sets are still on
store shelves--especially when they are still full price.
If you want to buy just these pieces from the sets, I might be willing to buy
the set(s) and just sell you the half-beams. Let me know. I am located in New
York State, USA.
