Unfortunately, color photocopies can't reproduce all of the fine detail and
shading that original laser prints create. Plus, they are excessively
expensive (It's bad enough that I have to charge what I charge for my kits,
but that would be too much straight into a third party's pockets).
I should also say that I'm not planning on shutting down production of my
kits, but will be discontinuing (at least temporarily) all those affected by
yesterday's events. It is possible that the data could be recovered and I
am going to pursue this right away. I do have several back ups of the
original designs, which could be made into instructions again at a later
date, providing I find the time to to them. It should be understood that
building kits is only a hobby and I would rather invest my energy on the new
kits, then go back and recreate the old ones. Maybe, if the Blacksmith Shop
is selling well enough, Lego Direct would see fit to re-issue the rest of my
castle sets, but right now I'm gearing up for an all out Blitzkreig on WW2
armor.
Have I learned my lesson? Yes, I'm going to get nmyself a better back up
system for my instructions....

The quality won't be perfect, but I would be surprised if someone who hadn't seen the original would know the (...) (22 years ago, 18-May-02, to lugnet.market.brickshops)
