This beautifully executed sculpture is made entirely of over 1500 individual
Lego(tm) bricks It is 30 bricks tall and 36 bricks in diameter. It is great
as a conversation piece, and perfect as as geography learning aid for a
grade school classroom.
Construction
Individual rings (slice) of bricks are professionally glued together with a
special ABS bonding agent. Then, each ring is carefully compression fit
(pressed together) to form the globe.
It uses internal bracing for support, with a hidden "magma core" (actually
just red lego bricks which comprise the internal bracing hub) ;) If it is
dropped, it may come apart, but can be easily reassembled.
