Just as a reminder, people in the US that wish to do business with Mark
can use me as a factor. I charge 1 dollar extra and take US checks.
Contrast that with the normal cost of getting a money order or changing
into AUS dollars, or the risk of sending US currency through the mail
(which DOES work, I do it all the time) and you may wish to avail
yourself of this service.
Note that I am also a factor for Richard Dee in the UK, Chris Moseley in
NZ and for Grahame Reid in Australia.
Being a factor also means that if one of these folks buys from YOU, a US
seller, you the seller can expect payment from me rather than them. It
also means that I occasionally ask THEM to write YOU a check if I buy
from you and you live in the same country they do. (I charge, or pay, 50
cents a check, depending on who wrote it, me or them respectively)
I am willing to take on a limited number of other people in different
countries, please write me if you're interested. In particular I think a
NL and a DE associate might be useful given the volume of traffic I have
with NL and DE. I prefer to have only one associate per country, though.
(I just like Mark and Grahame both so...)
Factoring should not be confused with Trusted Intermediary-ing, which I
also do, in that your shipments are to and from the person I am
factoring for. I'm just smoothing the payment process out a bit. It is
also not a good mechanism if you are in a tearing hurry for your money,
because I am slow. In fact, it works best if you buy about as much from
the US as you sell to the US, in the long run.
A final note. LUGNET XXVII hopefully will make this obsolete and put me
out of business. I can hardly wait.

| Hi All, Just bought a collection of fifty sets, released between 1980 and 1992. I'll probably keep most of the town, the 4005 and the 6000 and as well as the rest once I find out which sets are complete. All came with instructions which the owner (...)
