Welcome to Alan's First Train Auction! This auction includes a
selection of 4.5V, 9V, and 12V sets, parts, and accessories. Please
read the descriptions carefully before bidding (although everything is
basically complete and in excellent condition!).

Rules:
1. This will be a once-twice-sold auction. Advances will take 24 hours
(this may decrease if I want to speed things up) and will begin around
Nov. 10
2. I'll probably update every day via e-mail and a few times a week on
RTL and Lugnet. E-mail me to be on the list or bid.
3. Payment via check or money order; I reserve the right to wait for
checks to clear.
4. International buyers welcome as long as payment is in US dollars via
check or money order.
5. Buyer pays shipping. I ship mostly via USPS. Smaller sets shouldn't
cost more than $3.20 via Priority Mail (some much less via First Class).
6. I expect prompt payment at the end of the auction.
7. I reserve the right to refuse participation to individuals and to verify
the identity of bidders to my satisfaction (haven't refused anybody yet
and hopefully never will have to!).
8. Minimum bid increment will be $1 under $100 and $5 over $100. I have
also decided to accept proxy bids. That is, you may tell me the maximum
you're willing to bid on a given item. I will keep track of the maximum,
but only raise the current bid the minimum amount. Please ONLY use this
service if you want to bid significantly more than the current bid on an
item as it means more work for me. Proxy bids will be counted as having
been received first in case of a tie. All bids will be assumed to be
"hard" bids (i.e., not proxy) unless you specifically tell me they are
proxy bids.
9. I reserve the right to remove items for trade, but will try to do so
early in the sale if I find it necessary.

This 9V classic includes all original parts in very good used condition,
and all original stickers (which have been applied--and they're
straight!). Instructions are also original, in very good condition.

7861 12V Train Lighting Set
Add lights to your 12V engines with this set! Includes 4 wires, 4
lights, and 4 lighting elements with prisms (2 red, 2 black). Box is
unopened but somewhat beat up. Can also be adapted for use with 9V with
little trouble.

7864 12V Tranformer (240V)
Includes all parts (track leads, regulator handle, etc.), but no
documentation (not that it requires much). This example is fairly
well-used (it works just fine, though). The plug is the large British
3-pronged variety. If you're an American, you'll also need a step-up
tranformer and plug adaptor. A 220V stepup works fine; I'm willing to
sell my stepup/adaptor setup for about what I paid for it ($25 or maybe a
bit less), or just the universal adaptor cord for a few dollars (converts
just about any international plug to US). If you're a mainland European,
I'm willing to substitute a German version in better condition for an
extra $5.

7866 12V Remote Controlled Crossing
Includes all parts in excellent used condition (although a few may be a
bit dusty), box (a little bent up but generally in excellent shape),
original instructions (excellent condition), and even a 1985
mini-foldout train catalog (a little bent up)! This is a great set to
add to any train layout--and besides the crossing hardware, it even
contains 6 white train windows!
