I was at Fry's the other day for some other stuff and noticed they
have a small Lego offering. Along with lots of the easy to find
Mindstorms, they had the 8299 Search Sub. I had been looking for the
8250 Search Sub and was delighted to find this one, which as far as I
can tell is the European version which is the identical model, but
includes a CD with animated build instructions for the primary and
secondary models as well as 5 other mini-models. Their price is
$44.99 and they've got lots. They also had a couple 8428 Turbo
Commands. Why Fry's had the 8299 instead of the American 8250 I have
no idea, but I wasn't complaining.
If you go there, leave at least one Mindstorms for me for next week
when I can go and finally get mine.
