COLTC display at GATS, Feb 12-13th.

COLTC will be displaying coming weekend at the Columbus OH GATS show. We will have a 30 x 25 foot layout, featuring creations big and small, new and old. Several new MOCs' will have their premier at this show, most notable a 10 foot long operating (...) (19 years ago, 9-Feb-05, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.trains, lugnet.town, lugnet.loc.us.oh)

  Re: LEGO museum in Ohio?

(...) I too had the same dream but in a bit warmer climate. There used to be this old church for sale on Amelia Island in Florida that I thought would be a great location for a LEGO museum / shop. Of course I need to win the lottery or something so (...) (19 years ago, 29-Jan-05, to lugnet.loc.us.oh, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: LEGO museum in Ohio?

I have contacted them about a week ago, they said they'd get back to me, but no contact since then. I'd love a place that I can reach in 2 hours, and where I can park my Lego collection. If this turns out to be a legit museum, I'll be more than (...) (19 years ago, 28-Jan-05, to lugnet.loc.us.oh, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: LEGO museum in Ohio?

(...) I asked the seller a question through ebay and received the following answer. Eric ---...--- We are looking for anything Lego. If you have a collection you wish to donate send it to: Dan Brown c/o Old First Ward School 1731 Belmont St. (...) (19 years ago, 25-Jan-05, to lugnet.loc.us.oh, lugnet.general)

  Re: LEGO museum in Ohio?

(...) I'm sorry, but are you implying that Lego was first made in Ohio, like the baseball bat comes from Cooperstown, NY? Maybe it is near Samsonite! (19 years ago, 25-Jan-05, to lugnet.loc.us.oh, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: LEGO museum in Ohio?

(...) That was my guess too. If it were Lego doing the organizing, they'd probably aim for a larger "vacation area" spot (balanced with cheap real estate of course), but considering how this looks more privately run, it's probably what they could (...)   Re: LEGO museum in Ohio?

(...) Probably the fact that the owners/curators live in the area and found a building on the cheap there. I would imagine there's a slightly smaller following for Lego than there is for football, baseball, or basketball (HoF in Springfield, MA, (...)   Re: LEGO museum in Ohio?

(...) Well, the Pro Football Hall of Fame is in Canton because one of the most dominant football franchises of the early days was the Canton Bulldogs. The baseball hall of fame has a slightly more (URL) convoluted history>. But it has history. What (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jan-05, to lugnet.loc.us.oh, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: LEGO museum in Ohio?

(...) The same reason the professional baseball and american football hall of fames are in out of the way spots? -Orion (19 years ago, 24-Jan-05, to lugnet.loc.us.oh, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: LEGO museum in Ohio?

(...) That's what I was thinking also. Why would you put it in the middle of "no where" (no offense to anyone that lives in that area) but you would want it in a location that people would visit on a trip or something. I also find it strange that (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jan-05, to lugnet.loc.us.oh, lugnet.general, FTX)
