Whew, so I took time to rest up before I posted.  The weekend was
fantastic, I was not disappointed.  I met Grant and his crew Thursday

evening at our famous St. Louis Zoo, the location for the Roadshow.
The setup went very well, although most was done in the dark due to
Zoo regulations about no vehicles allowed on park grounds til after
5:pm.

I arrived back at the Zoo Friday morning just after 8:am and shortly
thereafter another member of GtwLUG arrived and we started setting up

our club's display.  Soon, Grant and his gang arrived and setup began

for the event.  It was cool, in no time whatsoever they were ready
for business.  Others arrived to assist them and more of our group
arrived.  By the time the Roadshow started, all was ready.  We had 4
members working our display.

We had a good crowd that kept us busy.  To earn their sticker, the
kids had to find and count 12 sheep (or less for the smaller kids).
We were constantly thrilled with the looks on the kids faces as they
viewed our MOCs and goodies.  Most parents also made comments about
the display.  Some didn't know Lego even had trains.  One gentleman,
a retired MoPac worker really enjoyed our layout.  (Andrew Reynolds
supplied most of the train layout).

Saturday started out ok, but then we had a light rain most of the
day.  The crowd was down and we spent most of the day a bit soggy.
Oh well, you win some, and you lose some.  Still enough folks came by

to keep us going.  It was a good day in spite of the rain.  The outer

edges of our display got wet, and Andy shut down the outer track, and

just ran the inner one.  My British Colonials took the worst of it
and Monday received new 'uniforms'.

Sunday was overcast and chilly, but otherwise great.  The crowd again

kept us busy.  For Saturday and Sunday, we replaced the sheep with
skeletons.  More great comments, made our day.  One kid was
mesmerized by the trains.  He stood there just a head taller than the

table and watched the train go round and round.  A mother with her
daughter got the last sticker at our display and told her
daughter "good, were done, now lets go get your father, he's still
building over there".

Afterwards, we remained and assisted in takedown and packing
everything up.  It was hard to believe it was over.  I want to Thank
Grant and his crew for many things during the show.  Thanks to Jacob
for allowing us to participate, and to Lego for coming to St. Louis.

Should you decide to do this again in 2004, please include St. Louis
and of course, us.

I took some pictures Friday and Sunday, it was too wet to get the
camera out Saturday.  We are a new club, only months old and we had 4

to 5 members working the display each day.  Anyway, here is what pix
I took, I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed the event.
