You must have gotten the same employee I got. He couldn't have looked too hard.
I, too, called in advance, although I knew I was going to go to the store
anyway. The employee looked, and said he had 2 or 3 sets. I had him hold one
for me. Then I got to the store and found the 2 other sets on the bottom shelf
and 6 others up on the top shelf. In fact, the 2 on the bottom shelf were
behind an 8277 Giant Model Set (which I also bought :-), so it's likely the
person you talked to didn't even bother to look behind things.
