I've checked several more stations, and the one right around the corner from me now
has 1246-1255, but I'm still not able to find 1256 - either all the stations are
already sold out of it, or they never carried it.

If anyone knows of a station that has a few 1256s in stock as of right now (not
even as of 2 days ago, as they sometimes go fast), I'd appreciate hearing about
it.  Anywhere from Gilroy to SF on 101.

No, 1256 is the largest, and SHOULD be $20.

Um, where did you see this?  ;-)

the larger 1252-1256 sets.

Just how much are the larger sets supposed to be?  I saw one station selling
the 1256 for $19.99 USD...I passed, thinking that the station had caught
wise to the fact that some people are buying for online resale and wanted to
get in on the profits by hiking the price up (I admit also that I wasn't
that interested in this very junior looking set anyway).

Shouldn't these sets be priced more around $12 from the Shell station itself?

(...) Thanks for the tip, Tom. I went by that station yesterday afternoon and picked up one of each except for the 1255. They were all out of the 1255. When I left, there were still 3 1256s left. Russell (23 years ago, 3-Jul-01, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)
