So, here's the latest...with the exception of Ben Lomand (Scotts Valley)
all of the recent activity has been in S.J. (I've abreviated the "San Jose
City Hall, CA" to just SJCH, to keep each entry to one line.) It's also
interesting to note that there were two smaller quakes before Tom noticed.
Generally speaking, a quake needs to be about 3.0 before most folks will
notice it. In my building, about a mile from Tom, we are built to withstand
an 8.0 quake, so we have some give built-in...and so we didn't feel it.
At a meeting, just before the quakes started, I was arguing for some
network redundancy, and was explaining that one of my main reasons was
that the Bay Area is siesmically-challenged, and that we haven't had a
strong quake in a while, so we're probably due. ("Sorry! My bad!" ;-)
