I like the ideas, especially the dump station.
I am thinking of maybe using the white droid DDK microscout
one a tipper car, and the blue Scout on the side of the track.
When the Scout sees a car is next to it, it sends VLL led
messages to turn the microscout on and off, tipping the car.
The droid microscout is smaller, only 6 studs wide,
so should fit on a train car better than an RCX.
You would need two cars, one for the microscout, one for
the tipper car, connected by a universal joint.
Can an RCX power the train tracks? It would be nice to
slow down/stop the train when it gets near the dump station.
