Interestingly the yahoo group seems to be surprisingly well used.

Partly for reasons we can't enter into here.

I was thinking of setting up a similar Fest co-ordination group.

Lugnet is OK, but there are far more sophisticated things out there • for
managing a group - like sharing a calender, etc to arrange something,
poll interest, sign up for an event, etc.

I did Yahoo as it was quick and easy - but for a more permanent • solution
I can easily put something like the site I had last year - which
disappeared because I changed hosts.

Absolutely agreed about the extended functionality, and I'd put a link • to
such a site on loc.uk but I for one would prefer one place for actual
messages and Lugnet would be my preference as it's the best place for
newbies to find us, lurk and then join in.  Can such a sharing of • groups be
done?

I wonder if lugnet is the best place for newbies to find us?
The UK lugnet community has always seemed surprisingly small to me.
Is that because there are not many UK AFOL, or because they dont come
across Lugnet?

For example, if you go to yahoo.co.uk and search on Lego (an obvious
place for a fan to start) you would never find lugnet. You will find
several of our home pages though.

It is only if you limit it to UK sites only that you don't see Lugnet. lawrence (23 years ago, 16-Apr-02, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.admin.curators)
