I gave the guy a call, it sounds like he has quite a pile of sets.
However, all the parts are intermixed and he only has boxes for the technic
sets.
I really envied him. His only knowledge of Lego was via catalogues and the
like. He said he had found a scrap of paper with a picture of 8858 on it -
he wondered if such a thing really existed. The WWW means there are few real
surprises for me now in LEGO. :(
