Is .fs too confusing?  I thought it would be nice for Suffolk and Norfolk
to be .fs and .fn, respectively, so that they sorted next to each other
in the newsgroups list.
It's the same reason that North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, and West Yorkshire
are given as .yn, .ys, and .yw, respectively, instead of .ny, .sy, and .wy;
and East and West Sussex are given as .xe and .xw, respectively.

I don't know, it is a bit hard with 2 letter codes, especially if u use the
NNTP version of LugNet because you have to decipher all the codes from the
group names.

We don't have state codes but I'm not sure if we have county codes at all.
I don't think it'll be a problem for now.

Why can't my name just be Carbon 60 instead of:
Simon Denscombe
"Carbon 60" <carbon60@bigfoot.com>
Or whatever - is this a self-imposed limitation of LUGNET for nicknames?

Carbon 60
