I agree entirely. I have a pack of photos that TLG gave me some time ago
with some of the fake sets they had chased off. I seem to remember reading
once that every minute of the day LEGO are sueing somebody somewhere for
copyright and/or trademark infringement.
I have (deliberately) collected samples of imitator products, eg Betta
Builder, Pennybricks, Tente, Cliki, Montini, Philliform, Idema, Polly-Hobby,
Bestlock, Micromegabloks etc etc, but the only outright fake I think I have
is a set of 'Hobo' (Russian?). There's a well known fake that called itself
0637 (try reading that upside-down), and there's also some stuff called
"Shifty" that Alan Kershaw has, but I'm not sure if it is correct to class
that as fake or imitator.
Anyway, if you come across any fakes Nat, get 2 examples please ;-)
You have at least one person to swap with...
