Just the other day whilst out buying a loaf of bread (fun) I wandered past the
Lego section in my local Tesco's. Immagine my surprise to find it being stocked
up with discontinued sets. I saw 6493 Time cruisers ship, and 6899 exploriens
lab, both of which have previously been half price in The entertainer so I have
multiples already. Also, 6278, islanders big island. This one I had never seen
- ever, but then it was on sale during my Technic only days. No prices on the
shelves, so I ask. He doesnt know, but takes the one set I am interested in to
the customer service desk to find the price is 19.99. Now seing the size of the
box I figure it would have normally been about twice that, so of course I am
buying. I get it home and open it to find a japanese 1995 catalogue inside.
Now I wish I had the 100 pounds to buy the other 5 sets hint hint.
You better be quick if you want them as stocks seem quite limited.
And if you cant find it locally, my Tecso's is at cannon park, next to warwick
uni, coventry.

| My Tesco, in High Wycombe had the same! They had quite a few of both the Islander set, which I didn't buy, and the 6899's, of which I had bought one (but have still yet to open, maybe I might now!). The 6899's were only 5.99, which is about half- (...) (26 years ago, 5-Dec-98, to lugnet.loc.uk)
