"Thousands of New Zealand schoolchildren have built the longest lego serpent
in the world...

They spent a week putting the 1.7 million plastic blocks together in
Auckland's Aotea Square to form the 646m-long serpent.
The previous world record for the longest lego serpent was 620 metres.

One of the organsiers, Sally Markham, said the 20 minutes it took to measure
the creation was "nerve-wracking", according to Radio New Zealand."
