Grüße!

I am travelling with my family [wife and 2 kids] in Europe until October 16 when
we leave from Frankfurt to return to Kanada.  I am looking for some
recommendation of an inexpensive place to stay in the Frankfurt area the night
of Oct 15th or 14-15.  I have spent too much money on Lego [says my wife] so we
don't have much left over for lodging [says my wife, again!].

Any suggestions welcome, as well as comfortable floors and couches...

Vielen Dank,

Jean-Marc aus Canada

Dear Jean-Marc,

I ran across the crosspost René has made at 1000steine:

I live not really near Frankfurt, but it is not much more than 20 minutes car
ride from here to the next train staition and from there (via cool ICE highspeed
train) only 120 minutes to frankfurt airport.

So if you don't have to leave a rental car at the airport, you might consider to
stay here for a night (or two). I have a guestroom with a bed for two and a
further empty room in which kids might sleep, if I could organize something like
some air mattresses...

And I have to check with my job and my wife if there are no dates which collide
with your visit. So I cannot give any promises right now - sorry!

If some other German has 2 guestrooms: I do not insist on hosting your family. I
think there are enough guys with two guestrooms near Frankfurt. If not - I will
ask my wife for her opinion now....

Kind Regards,

Ben

(...) Dear Jean-Marc, I have checked with my wife - who wasn't home when I wrote my last posting. That weekend is the weekend after my mother in law's birthday and my wife had already approved an invitation. So I see no chance to cancel this. Sorry (...) (18 years ago, 26-Sep-06, to lugnet.loc.de)
