Hi folks,

        6th Annual Lego Robotics Event
        Saturday September 23rd 2000-10AM Competitors, 1PM Audience
St Michael's College Theatre, University of Toronto
        121 St Joseph Street

Just wanted to announce the 6th Semi-Annual Lego Robotics Event,
taking place here in sunny Toronto, Ontario, on Saturday, September 23rd,
2000.  Please come out and participate in our get together-and feel free
to forward this out to friends, family and coworkers!

During the past few months, dedicated teams of Lego enthuasists
have been building a new breed of competition robot-Blockstackers.  We've
retired the marble sorting game and instituted this new contest where
pairs of robots must build towers out of blocks scattered around a
playfield.  As time ticks down, the robot which has built the most towers
wins.

We'll also be continuing the RobotSumo event, where robots will go
head to head (and back to back) and try and push each other off a sumo
arena!  This is an ideal challenge for entry robot developers to get into
Lego competition robotics!

It's not too late to try and build something for this
event-consider teaming up with your pals, fellow students or give it a go
yourself.  You have one week!  Find out more at:

        http://peach.mie.utoronto.ca/events/lego/lego-091600-rules.html

We hope you'll all come out-bring a bot if you can, bring yourself
if you don't...even if you're not into Mindstorms, there will be lots of
Lego loving folks to hang out with.  See you there!

PS-Yes, this is a week later than anticipated.  This was done to give
people more time to build blockstackers, but also because of scheduling
problems.  We'll email again if the location changes, but we should be
okay for Saturday 23rd, at St Michael's.  Please check your email and the
webpage before you leave on Saturday morning, just in case!
