I bought 2 of these at Walmart this morning. They are in black tubs with gold lids numbered 4105 with 500 pieces. RH posted that there were 1000 pieces, are there 2 gold brick tubs out there? The price was only $14.86 there and they only had 4 of them on the shelf.  I agree with the other comments that there is a nice selection of pieces.  The gold bricks are nice, but the only flaw is that the gold colouring isn't in the plastic, but just on the surface.  I scratched a bit off the inside of one brick to find this out. this means that the gold bricks will not wear well if they rattle around in a tub with other Lego pieces :(   They will still look good in the treasur rooms of my castles.  A stack of gold blocks is a lot more impressive than a treasure chest with 4 gold coins in it :)

I just picked one of these up to check the contents.  I have not done an
inventory but it does look like a good piece selection --- 1000 pieces.

Interesting that it does not have a new set number.  It is labelled as 4496 but
has a black tub with a gold cover.  The lid snaps onto the tub.

I was interested in the gold bricks...I thought they might look like Megabloks
but they are quite nice.
Are these available anywhere but Costco and are they available in the US?  I saw
a listing for these on Ebay and the number on the bucket was 4105.  I thought
that was odd as there already is a 4105.
