Greetings,
I finally got tired of waiting and phoned LEGO. Canada isn't getting a
summer catalogue this year. January is the most recent one. We might
get one in another month or so. The exchange rate in the January
catalogue expires Sept. 30th.
On a related note, the cost of ordering through S@H might be going up
for you. On my last Visa bill (CIBC) they had the following
information:
"The foreign currency conversion fee will increase from
1.8% to 2.5% effective for foreign currency transactions
posted to your account on or after September 15/03.
If CIBC pays for a foreign transaction in Canadian
currency, you will be charged the same conversion
rate CIBC is required to pay, plus an administrative
fee of 2.5% of the converted amount. This fee applies
to both debits/purchases and credit/refunds."
If one bank does it, I can't imagine the others being far behind.
I hope LEGO drops the conversion rate for sending in Canadian dollar
cheques in the next catalogue.
