Just curious if anyone knows anything about build-a-bricks (builder
bricks?). I got a bag of them the other day, and was curious about one of
the parts: a 2x2 'brick' with a large raised hollow circle on the top of it.
Does anyone know what this part was used for, and was there anything that
was supposed to sit on top of it? [Also, if anyone has any of these that
they don't want, I'm interested.]

For those who don't know what these bricks are, I believe they were
Australian made plastic building bricks from the 50's/60's. I believe they
were made of bakelite (although I could be mistaken) and came in brown and
white. The studs on these pieces were about 1/4 of the diameter of lego
studs, althought the bricks were slightly larger than lego, and the bricks
are about 1/2 the height of lego. Before I got the part I'm asking about,
the only parts I had seen were: 2x4 and 2x2 bricks, 2x2 sloped brick, and
2x4 sloped brick with holes on top [instead of studs]

I'll see if I can get some scans up this week-end of all the pieces I've
currently got.
