Lego sell these parts seperately (or used too).  Without S@H here, you could
try ringing LA and asking about <set: 5303, Buffers, Magnetic Couplings> and
<set: 5304, Wheel sets>

Otherwise I think you would need to either get a train set or look on
eBay/Brickbay for the parts, which may not be cheaper.
