The pictures of my ute[1] that was done in 8448 scale using mostly parts
from an 8448 and a few parts from some smaller technic sets are now up
at
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=1992
It is built on a chassis that is mostly the same as the one on the 8448,
the main change was to move the steering wheel to the other side of the
car.
It features a V8 engine, 6 speed manual transmission, independent rear
suspention, air conditioning, alloy wheels, sports tyres and more.
The only thing I would change if I had more lego would be the length of
the wheelbase and especially the tray on the back (which is hard to see
in the pics). I accually saw (after building this model) a ute that
looked just like my model.
Please let me know what you think of my first model & my first attempt
at photographing the model & scanning the photos.
[1] a UTE is similar to a pickup truck, they were both offshoots of the
same vechicle which was created by ford motor company australia back in
the 50s or something.
