Here is what I have noticed about stores that carry lego in australia
(perth anyway)
1.TRU and W4K tend to have most of the line, including the RIS & stuff.
The mindstorms stuff is usually over with the computer games but
surprisingly the cybermaster is not (in the perth TRU anyway).

2.stores like MYER, if they have toy departments (the smaller ones, myer
garden city for example, tend not to cary toys but the bigger ones
sometimes do), usually have the large system sets (the RR base for
example) but are less likely to have the RIS & 8448 and stuff.

3.the few independant toyshops left (toyworld fremantle is the one I
have been to) tend to cary most of the line but from my experience not
usually the computer stuff, probobly because they dont tend to have
computer software. These are the stores most likely to have the full
range, TRUs tend to have to take what is given to them by the wharehouse
and if they are out of stock of an item, tough. The smaller stores tend
to get new stock in reasonably fast. The smaller stores can also afford
to order small amounts of the bug sets, and if they sell out then they
can get more.

4.kmart and target and big W and stuff tend to have small, limited
ranges, not usually carying the larger sets, like the RR base or the
arctic base or the king leos castle or whatever.
