Minor detail...LA isn't totally responsible for our sub-standard
range...It's also up to the buyers from retailers like target, k-mart,
Myers, etc, who decide what they want us to get. That's why you sometimes
get exclusives [eg the TRU sets with the extra plastic thingie [x-treme
vehicle, aquanauts sting-ray etc], a town Jr val-pack, and some of the
'impulse sets' at Big-W, among others] Unfortunately, while these places
'know' what we want, we have little way of getting what is really wanted.
That's also probably the reason for the kiwi's getting such a good
range...better store buyers [or at least buyers who really know what people
want].
However, if we could get that list together, maybe they would order the sets
in like they did with the trains over christmas.
Alternatively, LA could include a small catalogue like the supp catalogue
included in past full range catalogues, and list/show all sets available
this year which stores will not be stocking, and allow us to order these
direct from LA, but not the general release sets. Maybe then the stores
would begin to listen to what people REALLY want.

| What we need to do is push the managers of the smaller independant toy stores, tell them that we would buy lots of them if they got the soccer sets in, show them the sets in the current catalog, and ask them to order them from lego. See what they (...) (24 years ago, 13-Apr-00, to lugnet.loc.au)
