TRU Penrith (Sydney),Australia,
The major kit of the much unloved Insectoid theme is on clearance at my
local TRU. It's 6977, the Arachnoid Star Base ( 433 pieces, 4 minifigs ).
The usual TRU price is $ 199 AUD, the clearance price is $ 99.
The shelves have always been fully stocked so I guess it's a slow mover.
It has quite a few specialised parts that may test the most imaginative,
including the big dark grey/gray insect legs (grandstand roof supports?),
a number of blue space wheels, an assortment of blue and dark grey/gray
blocks and plates, a pair of useless trans-blue insect wings and a selection
of trans-dk.green pieces and some trans-antifreeze green hexagonal domes.
There's also some black specialised pieces including 2 x 1/4 dome(sm) bases.
The highlight of the box is the battery-powered glowing/pulsating insect bum,
sorry I mean abdomen.
The alternative models mean you can make some ...more...insectoids...hmmm...
As always this price may be happening at a TRU near you.
