Hi Well I guess this a good time to intro myself. I'm a architectural
draftsman, and totally into Lego. I'm 22 and collect technic and any decent
system Lego. My burst of Lego madness was inspired by some of the Lego fire
departments that are out there. The link at the bottom is my attempt at
this.

Re Gold Coast Stores:
The best places on the Coast are TRU at Pacific Fair. Although currently
they have quite a disappointing range. Adventures and SW are the sets to get
here, as well as some of the bigger system sets.
No mindstorms, or big technic sets (I think they sold out of the later).

Kmart's around the Coast are a joke and not worth mentioning apart from the
model team big foot.

Targets have a good range of all series. but they don't stock any of the
larger sets. $70 is about the biggest set.

Toyworlds (Australia Fair, Runaway Bay, Robina, Tweed South) are good places
to find some older sets. Once again not to many larger sets. (although I did
find 8880 at TS store)

Myer Pacific Fair has the DDK and MS expansion sets. Ninja fans can find
sets here.

David Jones at Robina is a bit disappointing at the moment but good word has
come through that they will be getting better.
